425 Greek beaches and 8 marinas awarded the Blue Flag for 2009.
Beaches and marinas awards with "Blue Flag" for the year 2009 have been announced by the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature (EEPF). With 425 award-winning beaches, Greece holds the 2nd position among 39 countries. Overall, the 2699 International Commission awarded beaches and 639 marinas.
In Greece Halkidiki, is the first winner with 47 blue flags to waver on the beaches of the prefecture. In parallel, two marinas were awarded from the "Blue flag".
First in the blue flags are Halikidiki to 47, with 40 of the Dodecanese, the prefecture of Lassithi, with 40 and 32 to Corfu.
Of the municipalities of Halkidiki and this year was the first municipality Stageira Akanthos-coast with 12 winners, one more than last year, leaving second place in the municipality with 9 winners Sithonia’s beaches, of which two are of Porto Carras.
  The Blue Flag is an international symbol of quality, the best known, perhaps, environmental symbol in the world, and in 1987 awarded to those beaches and marinas to meet the stringent requirements.

The Cultural Society of Arnaia introduced on 31 May at 21:00 at the Cultural Center complex Arnaia Traditional Music of Iran "Persepolis" at one of the biggest concerts ever held in Halkidiki.
The complex of traditional Persian music "Persepolis" was founded 15 years ago. This is a band famous in the country and abroad, and after their return from Greece to Iran will start preparing for their U.S. tour.
In Greece, first appears. Especially in 2009 the band will make appearances in the country with 11-Member composition, which includes top musicians of Iran.

   Halkidiki had a  great participation in this year's International Tourism Exhibition in Vienna and Stuttgart.  Vienna‘s exhibition was attended by over 800 exhibitors from 60 countries and had about one hundred and fifty thousand visitors. 
    Halkidiki with its own space in the exhibition , gave lots of informations to  the purchase of Austria and Germany , who are interested in the county every year. 
    As seen from the expansion of programs and locations of major tourist organizers of Austria, Greece remains in first place preferences of Austrians in the main holiday packages and air travel, with a tendency to even climb.

  Halkidiki successfully participated in the Tourism Exhibition «Vakanz 2009» in Luxembourg. In this year's report, which involved 28 countries and about 30,000 expected visitors, the honorary country was Greece and destinations priority Halkidiki and Chania.
   The MEP Margaritis  Schinas, who comes from Halkidiki, attended the inauguration of the annual  exhibition of Tourism «Vakanz 2009»
   At a press conference organized to promote the Halkidiki, Mr Margaritis Schinas reported in large and significant benefits of tourism in Halkidiki showcase of Southeast Europe, which has 500 km coastline and 80 organized beaches of which 46 have been blue flag.
    Also highlighted the historic importance of the region as home of Aristotle, the cradle of Orthodoxy and the Holy Mountain and cultural center that combines perfectly with the traditional alternative  tourism. Finally Mr. Schinas spoke about  the traditional hospitality of Halkidiki’s hotels and dynamics of the rapidly developing infrastructure under a new development prospects for Southeast Europe.

   Network cycle is to create the municipality of Pallini Kassandra in Halkidiki, wanting to win the bet of thematic tourism product offered.
   The cycle path will be 10 kilometers and will start from the Kassandra Palace and will extend to Pefkohori.
Same time, is promoted the system of public bicycles operate card, which will have the data user, will be equipped with GPS to identify if stolen.

   In three international tourist exhibitions participate Halkidiki.
   International Tourist Exhibition CBR Munich in Germany to raise the tourism product in the most popular market in Europe.  The exhibition will run until Monday, February 18, 2008.
    Halkdiki participates for the umpteenth time in this exhibition, and spotlights the advantages of alternative tourism such as escapes into camping and shelter, conducted tours proposals for the Germans who love these types of tourism.  Halkdiki participate with its own stand in the pavilion at the Greek Tourist Organization, which is equipped with new information leaflets, posters and maps.  Feeling, it has caused the new form of Halkidiki which has been in nine different languages. From the first day of operation of the exhibition, visitors to the stand of Halkidiki were numerous and demanded to learn about new infrastructure, hotels and camping, for small dwellings and on Mount Athos.
Istanbul, EMITT 2008
   The Prefecture of Halkidiki continues to promote and advertise the tourism issue.In this connection, participates with an autonomous stand in the 12 th International Tourist Exhibition in Istanbul, Emitt 2008.  The Prefecture of Halkidiki raises the tourism offerings of Halkidiki markets mainly in east European countries, making a dynamic start for the new year.
Prague, Holiday World 2008
  The prefecture participate in the International Tourist Exhibition "Holiday World Czech 2007" in Prague, Czech Republic, from 14 to 17 February.  In this report, the Prefecture of Halkidiki hosted on the stand of Greek Tourist Organization.
 The prefecture started shortly before the tourist season seems to give weight to tourism development in Halkidiki, all realize how important are the compensative benefits from a well organised investment in tourism.
 Moreover, the aim is Halkidiki to become known to all and to be the most favourite destination for the visitor who looks beyond the beach, good and upgraded tourist services.
